At the rear of these engines are three cam bore expansion plugs that seal up the covers and allow for expansion. These plugs dry out and start leaking over time and need to be replaced. The plugs are cheap. Replacing them takes no time at all yet most shops charge a lot of money for this repair. Even if you are just starting out on DIY work on your car you can save yourself a lot of money by doing this repair yourself. First check that the plugs are leaking. You can do this by simply taking a clean cloth and wiping the rear of the top valve covers. If there is oil coming from them they need to be replaced.
