The MAP sensor or Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor provides instantaneous manifold pressure to the ECU. This information is used along with the MAF sensor to determine fuel metering. Failure of the MAP sensor is usually associated with a rough running motor along with a check engine light. On some C350s the error code is P0106 but check to make sure on your own particular vehicle. While the MAP sensor is not that inexpensive it certainly is quick and easy to replace.
